Byword App Reviews

Started using the app this morning on my iPad 2. Every time I open a document from iCloud the app freezes and explodes. Uninstalled and reinstalled the app but still experiencing the same problem. I dont experience the above problem on my iPhone 5 tho. Will have to revert to iA Writer until a fix is provided for the above problem.

Clean & usable. Works fine without any issue. Perfect if theres an option to disable extra keyboard. (Almost usless for plain text user.)

The app has some useful features, especially the undo button, which puts it ahead of others. The interface is simple and mostly intuitive. However, Ive had tons of trouble with exported files being unreadable by my Mac. It took buying separate writing software for my computer and using Microsoft word instead of Pages to be able to use Byword seamlessly. Now, the big issue is scrolling through larger files. Once a piece reaches a few pages the scroll skips back up or down, whichever is opposite of the direction is actually being scrolled. This can be frustrating since a lot of time is wasted in the app just trying to find a desired location in the text.

Cannot send E-mail, and can not canceled. Please fix. iPad Air, iOS8.4.1

iPhoneで、ブログ記事をマークダウンで書き、そのままアプリから直接wordPressにアップ、ちゃんとhtmlに置き換えされてます。あと、bloggerにもこのアプリからかいています。 アプリから下書き保存して、PCで、wordPress、blogger共に写真を追加し仕上げています！ 凄く使いやすいし落ちたりせず安定しています。 強いて言えば価格がちょっと高いことです。でも価格以上の価値は、あるので満足しています！素敵なアプリを、ありがとう！

Macでも愛用してます。 Redoキー付けてくれたら完璧なんですが。。

Awesome thing for text-writing

Dear developers, Ive just bought Byword for my iPad. Its almost perfect when typing in English but when I use Byword for writing the texts in my native Russian its a bit uncomfortable. Russian keyboard on iPad doesnt have , and . and ? and ! marks on the main keyboard layout. There are 33 letters in Russian. You see its a bit more then the number of letters in English. So every time I need to type one of the marks mentioned I have to use additional key _.?123_ to access the mark I need. Pls do one more thing for your product to be the best of all -- add these marks to a swipable row above the keyboard or make it tunable for the best performance. The last would be even better. Thanks for the good job. Byword is excellent!

To much money (you need Mac app + iPhone app) for basic functions

Tried lots of writing apps. Byword has the best UI with no clutter, smooth cloud sync, Dropbox integration, Markdown support, and incredible polish that gets out of your way and lets you focus on the writing. 5/5

Best text editor out there. Very powerful and supports export to pdf on device.

Syncing with Mac doesnt works

Badly interferes with third party keyboards (SwiftKey). Every line doesnt contain EndOfLine symbol so the next line first word sticks together with the last word of the previous — that is weird if you type in rhymes or lists. So autocomplete remembers those words Ive never typed and goes crazy. Only 3 fonts to choose from, plus Helvetica and the system font. No way to select font family from all installed in the device, and font weight. Themes look good but there are only 2 of them. Id like to have several user customizable color themes.

I hope to see iCloud folder support soon as mac companion do... Just because I can group files on mac and it does not sync on my iPad
